Happy four week birthday, girls! In three short days you'll be a month old!
This week, on Tuesday (11/3) you had your first sink baths (well, more like showers). Briley, you seemed pretty skeptical at first, until we got to your hair. You like having your hair washed and you seemed to deal with having your body washed. Delaney, you also had a skeptical look on your face, but you really seemed to love the bath and shower - you also liked having your hair washed but seemed more interested in having your body washed than Briley did. You both smelled so nice after your baths and we used baby lotion to keep you nice and silky smooth. You still feel like velvet, especially your heads ;o)
This week we also started tummy time. We started it mainly to wear you girls out and get you on a daytime/nighttime routine. I have to say, it's working - you're both doing much better at night, sleeping in between feedings which gives Mommy around 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep between feedings. It's not much, but it's a HUGE improvement compared to last week, so I thank you for that.
As far as tummy time goes, you're both very strong and move around pretty nicely - but you hate it right now. It's kind of a screaming match at this point with both of you crying the whole time. But, it's good for you and will make you nice and strong. You both lift your heads well and wiggle yourselves in circles, kick your sister, get yourself off the mat and Delaney, you've managed to accidentally rolled yourself over several times! Briley you've also rolled over a couple of times. It does seem to make you both sleepy too, so that's a nice bonus for us :o)
You've both been much more alert during the day too - keeping your pretty eyes open and looking around. You like looking at the dog who sniffs you regularly and you've been good at following Mommy's eyes as she moves and Daddy's eyebrows.
Speaking of the dog, he checks on you every night. Each night when we go up to bed we tuck you in and start getting ready for bed, around that time we hear the pitter patter of basset paws in your room - he circles it, checking on you and then returns to our room. He's been doing this since you've been home - he loves you, even though he looks annoyed when you keep him up at night.
Delaney, this morning you even gave me a half smile as I was changing your diaper - it was amazing. I can't wait until they come more frequently!
Briley, as far as I can tell you have at least one dimple, but we'll be able to tell better once you start smiling more regularly (now you smile mainly in your sleep). And Delaney, you've got two dimples - just like your Dad.
Happy fourth week girls!

Happy 4 weeks..just been reading your history to encourage myself.
We've been trying since August 2007 and are in the middle of our second IVF cycle (the first was cancelled), just been reading blogs like yours for encouragement.
I also am praying for twins out of this...
