Happy 10 weeks girls!
We've been busy getting ready for the holidays, but I'm pleased to announce that last night you were in bed by 9:00 and you slept until 4:50! WAHOO! I think that counts as your first STTN experience (so that's what I'm putting in the baby books).
It's interesting, because as you've started doing longer stretches at night, Delaney, you've been the one to wake up hungry. Before Briley was my little alarm clock. I think that's one of the more fascinating things about having twins - watching the two of you sometimes trade places with who's doing what. Briley, as of late, it seems like you'd sleep even longer. This morning as I tended to Delaney's screams, I woke you to feed you too and you seemed pretty groggy.
You're both loving your playmat now (Briley moreso. Delaney, I think you're going to give me a run for my money. You seem to get bored with everything but your swing fairly quickly). Anyway, yesterday my heart melted as I watched you, Briley, coo at the butterflies in your playmat.
You are both also loving your mobile. The second we put you in your crib at night you both look up at it waiting eagerly for us to turn it on. And you coo and smile at that too.
Delaney, you've been super smiley. Both of you love giving your Daddy lots and lots of smiles. But you save some for your Momma too.
On this weeks agenda - we'll be separating you. I wanted to wait until after Christmas, but you're both scooting around more and more now and I think it's about time to remove the sleep positioners (and I think it's better to move you into your own crib for a few nights first).
Sometimes you both fight bedtime. Delaney, it used to be just you - but now it's your sister too. Fuss, fuss, fuss for about half an hour until you cave into your fatigue.
I am really, really looking forward to your first Christmas. I can't wait to see what Santa brings you :o) And also, you love the decorations. I'm happy with my stocking purchase because Daddy says you both love looking at them when he brings you upstairs.
We love you so, so much. I can't believe you're 10 weeks old today. It seems like so long ago that I was in the hospital waiting to meet you, yet like you shouldn't already be 10 weeks old.

2 month appointment
Boo to shots. I know they're necessary, but I've never heard my girls scream and cry like that. Definitely not easy for Mommy and Daddy. Which is ironic really, considering shots are what helped bring them to us.
Anyway, both girls are doing well. Briley has officially passed Delaney weight wise (even though she started out 1/2 a pound lighter). Briley is now 10 lbs 8.5 oz - putting her in the 50th percentile and Delaney is 10 lbs 4.5 oz - putting her in the 25th percentile. Who knew 4 ounces would make such a big difference percentile wise?
They're both in the 5th percentile for height, so while we're not concerned - we'll be keeping an eye on their height. But really, their parents aren't tall so I don't think they'll ever be above average height wise.

Another day, another photo shoot fail.
Trying to get two babies to cooperate for a photoshoot is nearly impossible. This is the best one in the past 2 days.
And per usual, Delaney sleeping through the photoshoot while Briley's wide eyed.

Happy 8 weeks!
Delaney and Briley, you're growing so fast! I'm so proud of you both but so sad that you're already getting so big. Even though I'm very lucky to be home with you I feel like time is flying.
Over the past week you've both started regrowing the hair on the top of your heads, so your male pattern baldness is now turning into a 5 o'clock shadow. It's making your heads softer again and you both still love having your hair washed (just like your Mama)! You can thank your father for your rapid hair growth :o)
You were both great at your first Thanksgiving and lots of family got to hold you and Oooo and Ahh over your cuteness.
You've both been a lot more alert too. Delaney, you like to smile a lot at me. In fact, the other day, you were so smiley during meal time that I had to try to not look at you (as much as I love the smiles) to get you to eat. Briley, I think you're turning into a real Daddy's girl because you give your Daddy lots and lots of smiles!
And dare I say that you're doing awesome at night? I've stopped waking you at midnight to feed and am letting you do your own thing. Delaney, once again you fought us on the new bed time, but we've decided to be strict about the 8:00 bottle, swaddle, bed. You'll get used to it. In fact, last night you even fell asleep until around 12:40 - way to go! Daddy and I can't help but say: "This is weird" in a silent house at 9:00 pm.
A few nights ago I couldn't believe it, you both had a bottle at 10:30 and didn't wake up again until 5:40! Very refreshing for your mother ;o)
In cloth diaper news, they're fitting much better now and I even ordered you some pink ones for your cute fluffy butts. Sorry about adding some junk in the trunk - but they're cute.
Today is freakishly hot for December, so I may even try to get you outside for some pictures. And some of your first ornaments arrived today, so hopefully your Daddy and I can have you both hang them on the tree.
Happy 8 weeks little ladies!
